Greenridge is one of Eichler's few hillside developments — roughly 185 homes from the early-to-mid 1960s stepped into the Castro Valley hills, with view lots and more varied floor plans than the flatland tracts allowed.
Hillside post-and-beam is a different animal: the glass walls point at ridgelines instead of atriums, and no two lots repeat. With Sequoyah Hills in Oakland, it is one of only two hillside Eichler communities in the East Bay.
