South Land Park Hills is where Sacramento's two modernist stories meet: Eichler built 62 homes here in 1955–56 — his Sacramento outpost, centered on South Land Park Drive, Fordham Way and Oakridge Way — and the Streng Brothers, with architect Carter Sparks, built extensively in the surrounding blocks through the 60s and 70s.
In May 2024 the city designated the South Land Park Hills Unit No. 7 Eichler Historic District — Sacramento's first mid-century-modern historic district. That recognition, and Sacramento pricing, make this the most accessible serious Eichler market in the state.
